How to turn $300 into $30 Million

This short film entitled “Ataque de Panico,” or “Panic Attack!” was filmed on a modest $300 budget back in 2006.

It was uploaded on the internet one thursday last November by director Fede Alvarez from Uruguay. Four days later he opened his mailbox to find a ton of emails from multiple Hollywood studios interested in his film. Just a month later it was reported that director Sam Raimi had offered Alvarez a $30 million contract to turn the 4:48 minute long video in to a motion picture.

In an interview, Alvarez, whose video already has 5 million hits on YouTube as of today, told the BBC:

“If some director from some country can achieve this just uploading a video to YouTube, it obviously means that anyone could do it.”

Thats right, folks. Dream big. Happy 2010.
